Vital Records in Indiana

Vital records in Indiana are maintained by the Indiana State Department of Health, where they issue certified copies of birth and death certificates. While the State Department does have an informational index of marriages, certified copies must be requested from the county where the marriage. Divorce records are only maintained at the county-level. Specific county offices have the oldest vital records, but only for citizens of that county.
